Welcome to the

World of Thaedoria

A living realm of firelit inns, dark roads, and stories that bend to no script but your own.

Let the story begin…

The Realm

Step through the door, and the world is already breathing.

Thaedoria does not wait for you. Fires burn low, roads turn dangerous after dark, and the people you meet remember how you treated them. It is a place you inhabit in words — described richly enough to picture, alive enough to surprise you.

Places

Firelit inns. Dark roads.
Towns with long memories.

It begins at The Cosy Hearth: low beams, the smell of woodsmoke and barley stew, and Bram behind the bar with a word about the strange noises beyond the south door. Warm yourself, read the notice board, take your bearings. When you push the oak door open onto the square, the night is waiting.

“Cross him, and the warmth goes out of him fast.”

on Bram, the innkeeper

What sets it apart

  1. i

Nothing here is on your side.

The story won't flatter you and the world won't bend. You can fail — and when you do, it stands.

  2. ii

A crime only counts if someone sees it.

Do something terrible where no one can see, and no one comes. Let a witness get away, and the watch is already on its way.

  3. iii

    Told, not templated.

No branching menu, no script waiting to fire. What happens next is written for what you just did.

See it played

A night at the Cosy Hearth.

No menus, no numbers on screen — just the room, the people in it, and what you choose to do next.

On your screen

The real thing, not a mock-up.

Actual play: your hero's vitals and gear down the side, the story unspooling in the centre — and, beneath the prose, the engine's own impartial verdict.

A play session at Brookhollow Green — the character panel shows health, mana and equipment while the AI Storyteller narrates the scene and suggested actions line the foot of the screen.
Exploration — your hero, the living scene, and what you might do next.
A combat exchange — the Storyteller describes the goblin's blow in prose while the engine's line beneath states the exact damage dealt.
Combat — the Storyteller gives it voice; the engine states what truly landed.

Your AI Storyteller

It reads like a novel that answers back.

An AI Storyteller — your AI game master — gives Thaedoria its voice: the room, the faces, the weather turning. You type what you mean in plain words, and it answers exactly what you wrote, not the nearest menu option.

Underneath, the world is keeping careful count of everything — wounds, standing, who saw what. It simply never breaks character to show you. You get the wound described, the guard's expression changing, the room going quiet. Never a tally.

What awaits you

A hero all your own

No fixed classes. Build your character through their life story — childhood, a defining crux, the skills that survival taught them — and those choices become your stats and talents.

Tactical, turn-based combat

Initiative, position, and the weapon in your hand all matter. Engage, hold the line, or flee — and a fight can erupt the instant you make it one.

Real conversations

Talk to the people you meet and they answer you directly. Persuade, intimidate, or read a room — and sometimes talk your way clean out of a drawn blade.

Towns that react

Draw steel in a peaceful square and it costs you. Guards answer, civilians scatter, doors close — but only if a witness lives to raise the alarm.

A living open world

Cross Thaedoria from a turning globe — its continents, roads, and wilds — with journeys that surprise you along the way and four schools of elemental magic to master.

Questions

What is the AI Storyteller?
The AI Storyteller gives Thaedoria its voice — describing the room, the faces, the weather turning. But it is only the narrator: an impartial engine decides every wound and consequence, so nothing is bent in your favour. The story can unnerve you or move you; it never decides what actually happens.
Do I need to know tabletop RPGs to play?
No. You type what your character does in plain language — “ask Bram about the noises past the south door”, “raise my shield and stand my ground” — and the world responds. There are no menus to learn and no rules to memorise.
What does it cost?
You can start free. Free includes a daily helping of storytime — enough to explore, meet the town, and begin your first adventure. Premium is $14.99 a month for roughly ten times the daily storytime, plus longer narration and priority responses.
What is “daily storytime”?
Storytime is simply how much adventuring you can do in a day, and it refreshes every day. A quick look around costs little; a pitched fight or a long, detailed scene costs more. Free gives you a taste each day; Premium gives you about ten times as much.
